THE RAVEONETTES

Hometown shows are always something special, particularly for bands who have been touring all over the world. It is quite a rare occasion for us to meet Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo where it all started for them, in Copenhagen, right before their final show of the tour and the year. They are concentrating and preparing their set when we arrive at the Vega venue in the afternoon. Time is limited and outdoor temperatures are as you would imagine them on a December day in Denmark, so we stay inside and choose to do the session in the beautiful entrance hall of the building with its original 1950s decor. Sune and Sharin sit down on one of the sofas and present a stripped-down version of „Railroad Tracks“, a rare song from the 2005-EP “A Touch Of Black” that is also featured on their newly released “Rarities / B-Sides” album. It doesn’t need more than their two voices and one acoustic guitar to let us immerse into the darker, more melancholic side of The Raveonettes’ musical spectrum.
