Christmas is past, B. Fleischmann’s newly released, critically acclaimed album “Angst Is Not A Weltanschauung” has already been presented in some exclusive, atmospheric liveshows and the winter is coating the city from anew in a mantle of snow when Bernhard and his friends, the musicians Marilies Jagsch and Sweet William van Ghost gather for the shooting. Singer-songwriter Marilies Jagsch, – who debuted in 2008 with her soulful LP “Obituary For A Lost Mind“ – and artist Sweet William van Ghost, – as Jürgen Hofbauer he also acts as a university-lecturer and label-cooperator -, both appear as guest vocalists on “Angst Is Not A Weltanschauung”. The intensity of their vocal dialogue, Sweet Williams van Ghost’s dark timbre and Marilies’ fragile singing, that is framed by Fleischmann’s somber, melancholic tunes in “Trains” also gets the owner of the Laundromat under the skin. Unable to understand the English lyrics, he asks the Viennese musicians what their song, their sad song, is all about. Shortly after, warming up with a cup of coffee in Aida Bernhard swings and sways to the more up tempo “24.12” while a grumpy old man starts cussing behind his back, telling that he doesn’t give a fuck about their music. Besides of this, for Vienna not untypical incidence, the world feels at ease on this January morning, when the trio – and with them the truly pleased waitresses – savour the song “Aldebaran Waltz” to the last.
